Corporations Are Not People Money Is Not Speech

 

Supreme Court Decisions have endowed corporations with PERSONHOOD. Supreme Court Decisions have allowed money to control politics.
Supreme Court Decisions have endowed corporations with the very same constitutional rights as PEOPLE. Supreme Court decisions have endowed MONEY with the first amendment protections of FREE SPEECH.
The first line of the Constitution begins with the inspirational words:
       WE THE PEOPLE
The fact that billionaires and corporations can legally spend unlimited amounts of money to influence elections corrupts the fairness of our election process.
But the Supreme Court has transformed the meaning of those inspirational words into:
       WE THE CORPORATIONS!
Corporations and ultra‑wealthy moguls control who is nominated, who is elected, and how our representatives vote.
In Citizen’s United v. FEC, the Supreme Court trampled on the rights of United States human citizens, granting constitutionally protected rights to corporations because, according to the Supreme Court, corporations are people, too. “Our political system is pervasively corrupt due to our Supreme Court taking away campaign‑contribution restrictions on the basis of the First Amendment.” Judge Richard Posner
